A sturdy khaki coloured seat tackle box contains multicoloured fishing beads,
hooks, swivels and bait,
on a calm day with nebulous smoke white mist lightly resting on the water, the
tranquil scene captivates,

on a favoured fishing perch over transient water, a kingfisher’s fleeting
iridescence in characteristic pose,
focused, watching crystalline water flowing over coloured cobbles for the glint
  of darting silver minnows.

A verdant river bank covered in flowering vibrant yellow buttercups next to a
   field of grazing cows,
enjoying the peace and dappled shade of chartreuse green leaves on mature oak
  tree boughs,
still fishing a sedate meandering river in summer with slender rod resting and
     keep net to the side,
candescent sunlight tints the river’s dark obsidian water with silver ripples as to
  destinations unknown it glides.

The elegant arching of the rod and the clean whipping sound of the line as it soars
   past overhead,
before gracefully landing and being carried in the transitory currents of the wide
  shallow river bed,
standing in a pellucid gently flowing stream in tall olive green waders and muted
 patterned tweeds,
an intimate knowledge of the fish, local area and fly fishing expertise are required
  if you are to succeed.

The distinctive whirring sound of the reel’s circular spool discharging when
casting into turbulent pewter grey sea,
standing on a sloping beach’s receding drying wave shallows, the tidal water
    dictating where to be,
fishing a quiet lake enjoying the peaceful silence before nature wakens on a
 a clear spring morn,
the radiant golden orb of sunrise appears above the shadowed ebony horizon,
lighting the day, just before dawn.
