You Have Not Left Me

You have not left me, you are…

The crystal clarity of a nearby robin’s eloquent solo on a frosty
 winter’s day,
the subtle sweet almond fragrance of delicate pink apple blossom in
the month of May,
the tranquility of a cloudlesss cornflower blue sky over a silver
  tinted sea,
the timeless presence and commanding majesty of a wise oak
  sentinel tree.

Nestled under a copper beech hedge the simple elegance of a wild
    blue harebell,
a sunlit grass bank with native lemon primroses in an undisturbed
  woodland dell,
the flowers of entwined golden honeysuckle richly scenting the
 serene evening air,
on the stubble of a harvested corn field the playful chasing of the
 springtime hare.

A field of flowering poppies, reminiscent of a Monet painting with a
   rich scarlet glow,
a woodland snowdrop’s delicate bell shaped flower peeping above a
 dusting of snow,
the arch of an artist’s palette rainbow briefly painting rain clouds of
   slate grey,
frost tinted amber and copper leaves highlighted by a tapering shaft
 of sun’s rays.

A light breeze creating liquid gold ripples on a summer field of
    undulating corn,
white horses riding the crests of restless grey waves in a tumultuous
 winter’s storm,
awakening from winter slumber, unfurling leaves being visited by an
   inquisitive bee,
in the ever-changing beauty of the seasons, landscape and wildlife,
you are always there surrounding me.

In loving memory of James Farthing 1929 – 2017

A poem can express innermost emotions after the loss of a loved one or friend.

My poetry is written to be gently uplifting and evocative, reminding the reader or listeners of the loved one or friend’s love of nature.

My poems have been very well recieved at both church and crematorium services, adding a very personal accolade.
